Terms of Service

Effective date and agreement

Effective from 7 October 2026.

These Terms of Service are an agreement between you and Sumaself. They set out how you may use the Sumaself app on phones and on the web, including all the content, features, and support inside it. Here, "Sumaself" or "we" means the provider of the app, and "you" means the person using it.

You agree to these Terms when you create an account, sign in, or use Sumaself. At that point you also confirm that you have read the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use this app. A Sumaself account is for your own use, not for another person or an organization.

Provider and contact

Sumaself is developed and run from Jakarta, Indonesia. You can send questions, complaints, or legal notices about these Terms to support@sumaself.com. We confirm that we received a complaint within 3 working days and give you our answer within 14 days of receiving it.

Sumaself is an online account service for supported phones and the web. It includes account access through the cloud, calculations, content storage, chat and voice notes, account search, New friends, Circles, notifications, and user support. Some calculations also run directly on your device.

Age requirements and accounts

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account or use Sumaself. If you are under 16, do not sign up. Registration is refused automatically when the birth date you enter shows an age under 16. An existing account whose birth date shows an age under 16 also cannot open the app.

If you are 16 to 17, you may use Sumaself only if your parent or guardian knows and agrees. You need to confirm this when you sign up. A parent or guardian who does not agree can contact support@sumaself.com, and we will help close the account and ask for its data to be deleted.

Accounts of people under 18 get extra protection. The account does not appear in New friends, and people who are not friends see only its user ID and avatar (the avatar shows the holder's gender), with no SPM type, hobbies, or likes. All tests stay available. Other people can find the account only by typing its exact user ID, which the account holder can share with friends they know, and then send a friend request. Chat can start only after that request is accepted. They can join only Circles where every member is their friend, and a Circle they create is private.

You are responsible for the accuracy of the details you enter, for everything that happens in your account, and for keeping your Google or Apple account and the device you sign in with secure. Do not pretend to be someone else, use a false identity, or create an account with another person's details without their permission.

You sign in to Sumaself with a Google account or an Apple account, so we can confirm that the account is really yours. The sign-in is run by a sign-in service provider that works for us, and Google's or Apple's terms and privacy policy also apply when you use their service. If you sign in with Apple and choose Hide My Email, we receive only a private relay address from Apple, and Apple forwards our emails to your real address. Tell us as soon as possible if you think someone else has entered your account. You may not transfer, sell, or lend your account to another person.

What Sumaself provides

Sumaself helps you understand yourself through personality and ability tests, relationship reflection, astrology, numerology, Ba Zi readings, and social features. Results are calculated from the details and answers you give, using the methods explained in the app.

Features such as account search, New friends, friends, Circles, profiles, messages, read receipts, sharing, compatibility results, and notifications connect you with other users. They all work according to your settings and actions. Some recommendations and readings are created automatically from your details and activity. For users under 18, we do not use their activity to suggest people or Circles to them, and readings are made from the details they enter only when they open them.

We may add, change, pause, or remove features. We do not promise that every feature, reading, result, or saved item will always be available or work in exactly the same way on every device.

Birth details and locked fields

Sumaself uses your birth date, birth time, birth place, and the gender you choose to calculate age-based test comparisons, Western and Chinese astrology, Ba Zi, numerology, your compatibility with friends, and related parts of your profile. Your birth date and time are never shown to other people, as explained in What friends and other people see. If you mark your birth time as unknown, the app may use 12:00 noon as a temporary stand-in. Results that depend on the birth time stay hidden.

After your self map is created, some birth and identity fields are locked so that your results stay consistent. So check everything carefully before you confirm. A locked field is only a rule inside the app. It does not mean the details have been legally checked or are definitely correct.

If something needs to be corrected, contact support. We may ask for some information to confirm that the request really comes from you, to keep your account safe, and to keep the calculations accurate. We may refuse a correction if we cannot confirm the request, or if the change would create a risk to security, the law, or data accuracy.

For information only

Sumaself is made for self-reflection and entertainment. It does not give medical, psychological, psychiatric, legal, financial, educational, employment, or other professional advice. It is also not a diagnostic tool, a clinical test, an intelligence certificate, a safety assessment, or a replacement for advice from a qualified expert.

Test scores, estimated IQ ranges, personality types, compatibility results, observations about feelings or relationships, and astrology, numerology, and Ba Zi readings are estimates and interpretations. They may be incomplete, inaccurate, or unsuited to your situation. Do not use them as the only basis for an important decision about yourself or another person, such as a decision about health, safety, work, loans, insurance, education, immigration, the law, or a relationship.

If you think you or someone else is in danger or needs help right away, call the emergency number: 112 in Indonesia, 999 in Malaysia, or 995 in Singapore. If you feel like hurting yourself or feel it would be better if you were not here, call a mental health line (119 ext 8 in Indonesia, Befrienders 03-7627 2929 in Malaysia, or SOS 1767 in Singapore), or go to the nearest hospital emergency room that same day. In other countries, call your local emergency number.

Rules of use

Use Sumaself only for lawful personal purposes and in line with these Terms. You must not:

violate another person's privacy, copyright, or other rights;
enter, post, or share another person's personal data without permission or a lawful basis;
harass, threaten, deceive, discriminate against, or exploit another person;
share pornography or explicit sexual content;
promote online gambling or invite others to gamble;
spread hate or hostility based on ethnicity, religion, race, or social group (SARA);
spread hoaxes or false information that can harm or alarm other people;
encourage, teach, or praise self-harm or suicide;
send spam, unwanted promotions, or chain messages;
use results from Sumaself to make automated or major decisions about another person;
try to break through security, take apart protected parts of the app, add harmful code, or disrupt how the app runs;
copy, scrape, sell, relicense, or make money from the app or its content, unless the law allows it;
present content made by the app as a real message, or claim support from another user or Sumaself when there is none; or
use Sumaself in a way that breaks the law.

Content involving child sexual abuse or exploitation is strictly prohibited. You must not create, request, store, share, or promote it on Sumaself. We will remove that content, close the account, and report it to the authorities as required by law.

A Circle's creator and admins can write rules for it, and you agree to those rules before you join. They apply only inside that Circle and cannot replace these Terms. If the two conflict, these Terms apply.

You remain responsible for your actions and for everything you create, store, or share.

Reporting content and accounts

If you see content or an account that breaks these Terms, report it with the Report button on a profile, chat, message, or Circle, or send an email to support@sumaself.com. In a chat with a friend, you can also block them so they cannot contact you again.

Our team reviews every report and responds within 1x24 hours (24 hours). We handle urgent reports within 4 hours, such as child sexual content, threats of violence, encouragement of self-harm, or a removal order from the authorities.

If a report is confirmed, we may remove the content, give a warning, limit features, suspend the account, or close the account, depending on how serious the breach is. When the law requires it, we also report it to the authorities.

If your content was removed or your account was limited and you think the decision was wrong, send an appeal to support@sumaself.com within 14 days. Tell us why. Someone else on our team will review the decision again and tell you the result.

What friends and other people see

By accepting these Terms and signing in to Sumaself, you agree to the display rules below. They apply to every user and cannot be changed in the settings.

You can withdraw some of your consent in the settings, such as what each friend sees of your results, Discoverable, and photo, microphone, or location access. The display rules below are part of how Sumaself works, so you withdraw your consent to them by stopping using Sumaself and deleting your account in Settings. Deleting the app from your phone alone does not delete your account or its data.

Your friends can always see your display name, profile photo, avatar and SPM avatar, Chinese zodiac and Western zodiac artwork with their readings, age, status, mood, hobbies, and likes.
Your birth date and birth time may be used to calculate compatibility between you and your friends, such as the Friendship and the Business partners and work readings. Your exact birth date and time are never shown anywhere. The only exception is your partner in Sumaself, who can see your birthday.
People who are not your friends can see only your user ID, your avatar (which shows your gender), your SPM type with its avatar, your hobbies, your likes, and your approximate distance while you are visible in New friends.

Your Life Path and your Mind and Personality test results are shown to friends according to the sharing settings you choose for each friend. Compatibility readings may still use results you hide, but they show only the result of the calculation, never the hidden result itself. For example, a Big Five result you hide still counts toward the score, but your strongest trait is not shown.

Accounts of people under 18 get extra protection: people who are not their friends see only the user ID and avatar, as explained in Age requirements and accounts.

Love journal entries, diary pages, messages, voice notes, profile details, photos, and anything else you create, upload, or share remain yours. You decide who can see them through the features and settings in Sumaself. The exceptions are what is always shown under What friends and other people see and moderator access to review reports as explained in the Privacy Policy.

The Discoverable by user ID setting is off at the start. If you turn it on, people who are not your friends can find your account preview when they search for your @user ID in Add friend. That preview holds only what people who are not your friends may see: your user ID, your avatar, your SPM type with its avatar, your hobbies, and your likes.

New friends is separate from Discoverable by user ID. When the Discoverable setting is on, other users can find your account in New friends. This setting is on from the start for users aged 18 and over. You can turn it off at any time under Network in the Friends tab, or in Settings > Privacy & data. While it is off, your account does not appear in New friends, and you cannot see other people there. While it is on, others see only your public preview and an approximate distance, never your exact location.

So that the service can work, you allow Sumaself to store, copy, adjust the format of, send, and display your content. This permission is non-exclusive, free, and valid everywhere, but it is used only to run, secure, and improve the service and to carry out your sharing choices. It ends when the content is deleted from our systems. Even so, copies may remain for a while in backups, because of legal duties, or because another user has already saved them.

Check your display and sharing settings before you send something. A person who receives your content can copy it, take a screenshot, or share it again. Do not store or share information about another person unless you have the right to. By sharing content, you confirm that the content and the way you use it in Sumaself do not break the law or another person's rights.

Privacy and device permissions

How we handle your personal data is explained in the Privacy Policy. Account and service data is processed on Sumaself's systems, and a small amount of data may be stored for a short time on your device. The app asks for photo access when you choose a profile photo, a Circle photo, or photos for your diary and love journal. It asks for microphone access when you record a voice note in a direct chat or a Circle, and for location access when you use New friends or the home compass. Sumaself does not need camera access.

Protect your device with a screen lock, keep your Google or Apple account safe, and keep your operating system up to date. You also decide whether Sumaself is a suitable place for sensitive relationship, birth, or test information. Do not share information you do not have the right to share.

Sumaself content and copyright

The app, design, software, text, images, test questions, scoring methods, readings, content arrangement, and other Sumaself materials belong to Sumaself or to those who license them to us. They are protected by intellectual property law. As long as you follow these Terms, we give you personal permission to use the app on your device. This permission is limited, non-exclusive, cannot be passed to anyone else, and can be withdrawn by us.

This permission does not make the app or its content yours. You may not copy it for sale, distribute it, show it to the public, build products from it, or remove copyright, trademark, or source notices. Names, test frameworks, and trademarks that belong to others remain with their owners. When Sumaself mentions someone else's framework, it does not mean they sponsor or work with us.

If you send suggestions or feedback, we may use them freely and without payment. Any rights in your original work that the law does not let you give up stay with you.

Third-party services

Your device maker, operating system, browser, app store, email provider, and any other service you use to share have their own rules and privacy policies. Sumaself does not control those services, so it is not responsible for their availability, security, or actions.

When you sign in with Google or Apple, they process sign-in data under their own terms. When you open an email draft to support, the email is not sent automatically. If you send it, the subject, message, app version, platform, and your user ID pass through your email provider and reach Sumaself. Anything you add to that email is your own choice.

Any data, messaging, or other third-party charges from using the app are yours to pay.

Subscriptions and payments

Sumaself is free to use. There is also a paid membership called Suma+, which opens:

the full daily reading on Today;
every Ba Zi chapter;
every numerology chapter and every number calculator;
Good Days for dates other than today, including plans and their results;
the detailed Friendship and Business partners and work compatibility readings with every friend;
the full reading about you and your partner, layer by layer, after its summary;
the match scores on the Friends list in the Love tab;
every quiz in the Variety section of the Tests tab;
the Suma IQ Cognitive Test and its result; and
every chapter of the Suma Personality result.

Without Suma+, you can still take every test in the Tests tab except the Suma IQ Cognitive Test. Anyone can also take the Suma Personality test: the Introduction chapter of its result is free, and the other chapters need Suma+. In the Variety section, three quizzes stay free: Introvert, ambivert, or extrovert; Conflict style; and Burnout risk. The score, graphic, and opening reading on Today are always free. The introduction chapters of Ba Zi and numerology with their summaries, your Life Path, the phone number calculator, Good Days for today, and the summary of the partner reading are free too. Free accounts can also search for friends by user ID, send and accept friend requests, and see their friend list. Some compatibility is free as a preview: the match scores for the people on your watchlist, and how your friends rank by Sun sign on the Western zodiac page. A Variety or Suma IQ result that a friend shares with you in a chat opens in full, with or without Suma+.

Suma+ comes as a monthly or an annual plan through the App Store or Google Play. The price can differ from country to country and is shown in your local currency. The price you see already includes any tax that applies, such as VAT (PPN) in Indonesia. The store shows the amount you will be charged before you confirm, and then charges your account when you confirm. A monthly period means one calendar month, so it is not always 30 days. An annual period means one year.

If you are under 18, ask your parent or guardian before you buy Suma+. A parent or guardian can require approval for purchases through the family settings of the App Store or Google Play. If a purchase was made without their permission, the parent or guardian can ask the app store for a refund and contact support@sumaself.com.

A plan renews automatically for the same period unless you cancel it in your app store account settings. If you cancel, the next renewal stops, and Suma+ stays active until the end of the period you already paid for. After that, Suma+ features lock again, such as the full daily reading, detailed compatibility readings with friends, and the Suma Personality chapters. Suma IQ and Variety results you finished while Suma+ was active stay readable, and your account and answers stay too.

Refunds are handled by the app store under its own policies. The Restore purchase button in Settings reconnects a purchase made with the same app store account. We may change the price or contents of Suma+. We tell you in the app at least 30 days before a price rise or before we take a feature out of Suma+. A price change applies only from your next renewal, so you can cancel before then and keep Suma+ until the end of the period you paid for. We do not give refunds ourselves; refunds go through the app store, as explained above. While Suma+ is active, you can always see the result of the Friendship and the Business partners and work compatibility calculations with your friends, whatever their sharing settings. These calculations use both people's birth data and test results, but Suma+ still never shows your friend's birth date, birth time, or the test results they hide.

If you got the app from the App Store

If you downloaded Sumaself from Apple's App Store, these Terms are between you and Sumaself only, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content. Your permission to use the app on Apple devices also follows the App Store's usage rules, and Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies to anything these Terms do not cover.

Apple has no duty to provide maintenance or support for the app. If the app does not work as promised, you can tell Apple, and Apple may refund the price you paid for the app. Apart from that, Apple has no other warranty duty for the app. Any claim about the app, such as a claim about its quality, its compliance with the law, consumer protection, or infringement of someone else's intellectual property, is for Sumaself to handle, not Apple.

You confirm that you are not in a country under a United States government embargo or named by the United States government as a country that supports terrorism, and that you are not on a United States government list of prohibited or restricted parties. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms, so Apple may enforce these Terms against you.

Availability, changes and termination

This app is provided as available, with no promise that you can always reach it. We may release updates, change which devices are supported, correct or remove content, pause features, or close part or all of the service. Sometimes you will need to update the app to keep using it.

You can stop using Sumaself and ask for your account to be deleted at any time. When an account is deleted, its data is removed from active systems or made so that it can no longer be linked to you. Some data may still be kept for legal duties, security records, dispute resolution, and a reasonable backup cycle. Content that other users have already received may also stay with them. Deleting the app from your device does not delete your Sumaself account by itself.

We may pause or close your access if you seriously break these Terms, create a legal or security risk, violate another person's rights, harm other users, or misuse the service. When possible, we will tell you first and give you a fair chance to object.

No guarantees and limits of liability

As far as the law allows, Sumaself is provided without any guarantee. We do not promise that the app will always be accurate, reliable, available, suited to a particular purpose, free from violating others' rights, or free from data loss. We also do not promise that every result describes you or another person correctly, or that every error will be fixed.

As far as the law allows, Sumaself and its team are not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss, or for punitive damages. This includes lost data, lost opportunities, harm to your reputation, or decisions you make because you relied on the app. Even so, these Terms do not remove any responsibility that the law does not allow to be removed, such as for fraud, deliberate wrongdoing, gross negligence, or a consumer right that must be respected.

Keep your own backups of anything you need, and double-check information before you rely on it. The limits in this section apply only as far as the applicable law allows.

Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Indonesia, without applying another country's choice-of-law rules. If the law where you live gives you a right that cannot be removed by an agreement, that right still applies.

If there is a dispute, you and Sumaself agree to first try to settle it in good faith before taking formal action. To do this, send a written notice to support@sumaself.com. Explain the problem and the solution you are asking for. If the problem is not settled within 30 days after the notice is received, either side may take it to a court or another body with authority under the law.

If any part of these Terms is found invalid or cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. If we do not enforce a rule, it does not mean we give up our right to it. You may not pass your rights and duties under these Terms to another person without our consent. We may pass them on if the app is lawfully reorganized, transferred, or sold.

Changes to these Terms

We may change these Terms when Sumaself, the law, or the way we work changes. The new version will show a new effective date. For a change that limits what you get from Sumaself or your rights, we tell you in the app at least 30 days before it takes effect. When the law requires it, we will also ask for your consent.

Changes apply only from their effective date and do not reach back into the past. If you keep using Sumaself after new Terms take effect, you accept them, as far as the law allows. If you do not agree, stop using the app and delete your account.
